Works a lot better
Thx for your reactivity !
Pwytter seems always to be a little buggy at startup.
May I suggest some UI improvements ?
I hope that in the futur, we could switch colors/theme (even hardcoding it in config file). I could give you some Hex value to test, if you want…
1- when starting pwytter : use a loading splashcreen, and do not hide pwytter under other windows by default
2- switching timeline should be a select menu (or suppress the “timeline” word, and put “me”, “my friends”, “everybody” along each other)
3- add some “?” help button presenting : 1) whats twitter 2) why use twitter 3) how to use pwytter 3.1) especially how to create an account
4- “xxx caracters remaning” should be in gray and “Characters available: xxx”
5- wouch : why black interface ??? Its sooooo geeky
6- could be great feature, but I suppose not permitted by twitter : creating profile by pwytter (not urgent, btw)
But it’s really a great start !
I will think about integrate it in Framakey , cause its easier to use than Miranda or Gaim (even if it’s not the same objective). What do you think ?

pyg > Thanks for the suggestions ! I’ll do my best to integrate them in a future release.
Yes please, give me some color Hex values
Could you explain me #6 a bit more in details ?
And it will be a pleasure to be in the Framakey !!!!!
PS: Do you have a twitter account ? (mine is pjblog)

For #6, i was thinking that it could be difficult to understand for a newbie that he had to register on twitter.com if he wants to change his nickname or invite friends.
The idea behind is to ease the first use of twitter (think about hundred people using pwytter with the default login… bad idea)
So I thought that an option to register/subscribe from pwytter would be great, but I’m not sure that twitter provide an API for that.
For color values, may I suggest something like white and http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/93305/Room_with_A_View
or http://tinyurl.com/2nw5ry
(et maintenant que je suis sur Lyon et qu’il me semble que tu n’es pas loin, je te paie une biere quand tu veux pour parler de la diffusion de winlibre/maclibre par Framasoft
)

This may not be revelant but i figured i’d post this anyway. If you’re using ubuntu 8.10 you may be in for some issues with the network manager. For some unknown reason it stops functioning. You will need to manually set you’re resolv.conf with your ISP’s DNS servers. That file is located in /etc/network/resolv.conf
